I can’t believe it’s been over a month since we picked up a stray dog. Well, actually, she found us! Our kids, Jesse, and I have all been working hard to make her feel comfortable and loved by the entire family, including our family’s anointed Alpha Husky and our 9-year-old beagle.
From the beginning, we could tell that she had been previously abused. But with patience and lots of love, we’ve seen her feeling more and more comfortable with us every day. And last night, it seems like she finally felt at ease with our family.
We were all snuggled up in bed, with our husky and beagle already settled in. And then, in comes our newest family member, ready to join the sleepover party! She jumped up on the bed and laid down between Jesse and me, head on pillow and all. It was so funny when she even started pushing me, asking for more room.
But you know what? We all feel so blessed that she feels more comfortable and loved. It’s amazing to see the transformation in her since the day we found her. And the fact that she’s now comfortable enough to jump up on our bed and snuggle with us just shows how much she trusts us.
Of course, our family anointed Alpha Husky is still figuring out where he stands with the new kid on the block. It’s pretty hilarious to watch him try to assert his dominance while also being totally won over by her cuteness.
All in all, we’re just so happy to have this furry addition to our family. It’s amazing how much love and joy a stray dog can bring into your life. We just have to keep a close eye on our bed – it might end up being taken over by the furballs before we know it!
