Tackle Spring Cleaning the Right Way: Your Home Cleaning Checklist

Spring is here, and with it comes the urge to clean and refresh our homes. Whether you’re preparing to sell your home or simply want to give it a deep clean, the Garza Home Team at RE/MAX North San Antonio has put together a home cleaning checklist to help you tackle spring cleaning the right way.

  1. Declutter and Organize: Before you start cleaning, take the time to declutter and organize your space. Donate or sell any items that you no longer need or use, and organize the rest. This will make it easier to clean and make your home feel more spacious.
  2. Dust from Top to Bottom: Dust can accumulate quickly, especially during the winter months when our homes are sealed up. Start at the top of your home and work your way down, using a microfiber cloth or duster to capture dust and cobwebs. Don’t forget to dust light fixtures, ceiling fans, and baseboards.
  3. Clean Windows and Mirrors: Spring is the perfect time to let in the sunshine and fresh air. Clean your windows and mirrors with a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar, or a commercial glass cleaner. Use a microfiber cloth or newspaper to avoid streaks.
  4. Deep Clean the Kitchen: The kitchen is the heart of the home, but it can also be a hot spot for grease, grime, and bacteria. Clean your appliances, cabinets, and countertops with a non-toxic cleaner, and don’t forget to clean the inside of your oven and refrigerator.
  5. Scrub the Bathrooms: Bathrooms are another area that can accumulate dirt and germs quickly. Use a disinfectant cleaner to clean toilets, sinks, and showers, and don’t forget to clean the grout between tiles.
  6. Freshen Up the Bedrooms: Wash your bedding, including pillows and mattress covers, in hot water to kill any dust mites or allergens. Vacuum under the bed and in the corners of the room, and wipe down any surfaces with a damp cloth.
  7. Don’t Forget the Outdoors: Spring cleaning isn’t just for the inside of your home. Sweep your porch and walkways, clean your outdoor furniture, and trim any overgrown shrubs or trees.

By following this home cleaning checklist, you can tackle spring cleaning the right way and make your home feel fresh and new. If you’re planning to sell your home, a clean and organized space can make a big difference in attracting potential buyers.

Testimonials

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rosa and Jesse were excellent. They were very patient with my questions and worked very diligently to sell my home quickly. Because I had relocated out of town they often stepped in as my representative, accepting packages and meeting repairmen at my home. I received great offers in a short amount of time and was able to close in a little over a month since going on the market. You won’t be disappointed with their services
