At The Garza Home Team office in RE/MAX North San Antonio, my mom and dad have had our fair share of surprises. While my brother and I are accustomed to the hustle and bustle of mom and dad line of work, one unexpected guest has added a touch of nature to our workdays – the office squirrel.
It seems this little critter has made my parent’s office surroundings its playground. At times, we catch only a fleeting glimpse as it dashes by our windows (with all of us yelling “SQUIRREL”), leaving us with nothing more than a quick view of its bushy tail. However, when my brother and I are with mom and/or dad, its visits have become a delightful part of our routine.
When the squirrel stops at our windows, it peers inside as if to check if we have left any snacks or treats for it. The office community has embraced the furry visitor’s presence, and it’s heartwarming to see how my parent’s colleagues have become involved. They have taken to leaving out water and peanuts for our little friend, ensuring it feels welcome during its visits.
There have even been moments when we have walked into the office, only to find the squirrel happily eating on the offered peanuts. It is a reminder of the simple joys of sharing mom and dad’s workspace with nature.
But it does not end there. Sometimes, when either my mom or dad are rushing out the backdoor stairs for an appointment, we pause as we spot the squirrel casually chilling on the stair landing. It is as if it knows we are in a hurry and decides to give us a moment of amusement before we head out.
In the world of real estate, where mom and dad tell me every minute counts, the office squirrel has brought a touch of nature’s charm and a shared sense of fellowship among my parents and the office team. It is a reminder that even in the fast-paced world of transactions and appointments, there is always room for a little unexpected delight.
